Obituary of Lyell Aiken

Lyell Whitney Aiken, Jr. passed away June 27, 2012. Born January 31, 1930 in Lockport he was the son of Lyell Whitney and Generva (Daniles) Aiken, Sr. Lyell served in the US Navy from 1948 to 1968 earning six Good Conduct Medals, two National Defense Medals and European Occupation Medal. He worked for Harrison Radiator where he was in production. Lyell was a charter stock holder and past-president of Willowbrook Golf Course, Lockport. He was a member of the Elks, American Legion and a dedicated member of Sunrise Optimist since 1980 where he was the storyteller and the club enjoyed his humor very much. Lyell enjoyed golf and baseball especially the NY Yankees. He is survived by his aunt Isabelle Schaber, nephew Dale Miller and several cousins, also several other relatives and his many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service Thursday, July 26th at 7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Interment was in Cold Springs Cemetery. Donations to the Sunrise Optimist Club would be appreciated. Visit www.pruddenandkandt.com.
