Obituary of Wallace Peterson

Wallace E. Peterson passed away June 21, 2012 in Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Care Facility. Born February 7, 1924 in Kane, PA he was the son of Carl and Margaret (Decker) Peterson. Walley graduated from high school in Niagara Falls, NY and served in the US Army from 1943 to 1945 during WW II. While in service he was stationed in Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland. Walley was decorated with the American Service Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. He worked for Occidental, Niagara Falls retiring at the age of 57, was an active member of the Elks Club and enjoyed woodworking. Walley married Wanda (Czop) Peterson after serving in the army, she passed away and married Alma (Nichols) Peterson in 1981, she passed away in 2009.
Walley is survived by his two children JoAnne (Angelo) Orcini of Niagara Falls, Ontario and Daniel (Martha) Peterson of Denver, CO; grandfather of Melissa Orcini, Christina (Michael) Phillips and Brian Peterson; dear friend of Charlene and Ron Smith and Wesley Gerard Dugas all of Lockport
Relatives and friends may call Monday, June 25th from 11-1 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will immediately follow at 1 PM. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery. Visit www.pruddenandkandt.com.
