Elbert Benton Obituary

Elbert L. Benton, Jr. passed away June 14, 2012 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born April 20, 1926 in Lockport he was the son of Elbert L. and Jessamine R. (Grimble) Benton, Sr. Elbert served in the US nevy from 1942 to 1944 during WW II. He worked in retail for A & B Sports Center, Lockport. Elbert was also very active in starting up Lakeview Village Fair and also the light house in Olcott. He enjoyed fishing, boating and served on the board for the Niagara County Fishery. Everyone who knew him knew what his accomplishments were and knows he will be greatly missed.


Elbert is survived by his wife Georgia L. (Baysor) Benton of Newfane; father of Elbert N. Benton, Thomas (Patricia) Benton both of Newfane and Robert (Kathy) Benton of Lockport; grandfather of Lee, Arica, Joseph, Gina, and Alyssa; great grandfather of Aaliyah; brother of the late Ruthmary Benton, Jessie Paterson, and Robert Benton; also several nieces and nephews.


Relatives and friends may call Saturday 7-9 PM and Sunday 4-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 AM. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery. Visit www.pruddenandkandt.com
