Richard Baker Obituary

Richard K. Baker passed away June 11, 2012 in Absolut of Gasport. Born November 16, 1932 in Oil City, PA he was the son of Howard and Nancy (Callan) Baker. Richard served in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955 serving on the USS Midway and the USS Swan, earning the National Defense Service Ribbon. He worked as a methods operator at Harrison Radiator, Div. of G.M. for 36 years retiring 1991. After his retirement Richard drove residents for Amberleigh Community for eight years. He enjoyed camping, woodworking and was an avid Buffalo Sabres fan.


Richard is survived by his wife of 38 years Norma (Strohm) Baker of Lockport; father of Karen Baker of Indiana, Sharon Tomczak of Lockport, and Stephen Blake of Florida; also survived by step-son Robert (Brooke) Lindstedt of Portland, OR and grandchildren; brother of Thomas (Shirley) Baker, Lloyd Baker, the late Gary Baker and Shirley Neilson; also survived by several nieces, nephews, and his beloved cats Mitzi Ann and Big Nickie.


Relatives and friends may call Thursday, June 14 from 4 to 7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be held Friday, June 15 at 1 PM. Services

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 15 at 1 PM in the funeral home.

Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
