Obituary of Judith DeMaison

Judith A. DeMaison passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Sunday October 18, 2009. Born June 13, 1940 in Lockport, she was the daughter of Ellen (nee Merritt) Pratt and the late Roger Pratt. Judith worked at Sherwood-Harsco in Lockport as a production secretary. Known as the "Gourd-Lady", Judith grew and decorated gourd birdhouses and belonged to the National Gourd Society. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, bird watching, reading, crocheting and Kennedy History.
Beside her mother Judith is survived by her husband of 21 years, Donald DeMaison; her sons Robert (Sylvia) Barron and Richard (Tara) Barron both of Lockport. Step Mother of Keith (Danielle) DeMaison of North Tonawanda, Diane (Ted) Beyer of Glenns Falls, NY and Kevin (Amy) DeMaison of Lockport. Grandmother of Richie Barron, Jeff Drollette, Chris Rutledge-Paul, Danielle DeMaison, Fritz Beyer, Nicole Beyer, Kevin DeMaison and Lydia Grace DeMaison. Judith was the sister of William (Elizabeth) Pratt of Gasport, Carol Pratt of Lockport and Joyce (Joseph) Moore of Barker. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday 4 to 8 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM in Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, 4671 Townline Road, Ransomville, NY. Interment will be in North Ridge Cemetery. Memorials to Niagara Hospice or to the American Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
