Walter Kwoka Obituary

Walter F. Kwoka passed away October 16, 2009 in Buffalo General Hospital. Born October 19, 1934 in Lockport he was the son of the late Michael and Rose (Souja) Kwoka. Walter served in the US Army from 1957 to 1959 and worked as a lineman for Harrison radiator for 30 years retiring in 1998. He also worked for Frontier Stone where he was a foreman. Walter was a member of the Depew Rod & Gun Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, doing home improvements, decorating for the holidays and especially spending time with his boys and grandchildren.


Walter was the devoted husband of Brenda Sue (Taylor) Kwoka of Lockport; they would have been married 51 years in December; adored father of Mark (Julie) Kwoka, Sean (Melissa) Kwoka both of Lockport and the late James Frances Kwoka; cherished grandfather of Ashleigh, Jacob, Jennifer, Jordyn and Conor; brother of Helen Kwoka of Lockport and the late Michael, John Kwoka, Rose Fraser, Mary Caros and Katherine Wrobel; also survived by several nieces, nephews, several friends and the old maids group at Tim Horton's.


Relatives and friends may call Sunday 5-8 PM and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport where prayers will be offered Tuesday 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in All Saints Parish at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 76 Church Street, Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials to the American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Parkway, Williamsville, NY 14228 or to the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049 would be appreciated by the family.
