Dorothy J. Fidanza passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters on April 23, 2012 in Niagara Hospice House. Born July 26, 1925 in Lockport she was the daughter of Edward and Charlotte (Broughton) Reynolds. Dorothy was an inspiration to all who knew her. She loved working as a legal secretary early in her career, until she had the misfortune of losing her hearing at the age of 38 years old, which she handled with grace and dignity. After learning to read lips, she was quite successful as a medical clerk, working for Niagara County Social Services until 1997. She was an asset to all she worked with, and her sense of humor was infectious. Many were touched by Dorothy's kindness, generosity and love for family. Her last days reminded the family of her courage and how precious life was to her. May she rest in peace, three words by the author Robert Frost sum up her life, "It goes on." Dorothy married her husband Nino Fidanza on August 26, 1950, sadly he passed away January 16, 2004.

Dorothy is survived by her two daughters Diane Fidanza of Lockport and Kathleen (Richard) Fidanza-Maffei of Myrtle Beach, SC. She was the sister of Mary Nunnari of Lockport and the late Patricia Ben, Betty Magrun and Edward Reynalds, Jr. Dorothy is also survived by several nieces and nephews. .

Relatives and friends may call Sunday 2-5 and 6-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where prayers will be offered Monday at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in All Saints Parish.
