Obituary of Irene Pembroke

Irene D. Pembroke passed away April 3, 2012 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born February 6, 1920 in Lockport she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Irene (Dwyer) Callahan and Mary (Holway) Callahan. Irene worked for Harrison radiator from 1938 to 1946 where she was a secretary; she then worked for Niagara County Department of Social Services briefly from 1966 to 1967 and she worked and retired from Sherwood Selpac/Harsco from 1967 to 1982 where she was a secretary. Irene was a member of All Saints Parish and enjoyed music. She was predeceased by her husband William Pembroke in 1966.
Irene is survived by her two daughters Mary Ellen Pembroke of Lockport and Patricia (late Thomas) Pembroke Martin of Peoria, AZ; dear friends Nancy Long Mary Kenny and Carol Davin; sister of the late Angela Hannigan and Anna Margaret Hills; sister-in-law of Joan Pembroke; aunt of Francis Hannigan, Charles Hannigan, James Pembroke, Ann Narby, Mary Kay Blair; several great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday 4-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 AM in All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.
