Obituary of Roy Seward

Roy E. Seward passed away peacefully March 17, 2012 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born December 8, 1923 in Hartland he was the son of Seymour and Estella (Ingersoll) Seward. Roy served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1946 during WW II serving on the USS Cockrill and the USS Catron. He was awarded the American Theatre Medal, European Theatre Medal and the Victory medal. Roy worked as a welder for Harrison Radiator for 44 years and also worked on the family farm till it was sold. He was a past member of the Quaker Road Methodist Church where he was a very active member, Navy/Marine Club, UAW, VFW, Moose Lodge, Eagles, and Elks. Roy enjoyed sharing his love of the Lord, reading his bible, and bowling. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years Elanora (McCabe) Seward whom he married on May 30, 1951 and passed away on December 5, 2001.
Roy is survived by his children Patrick (Patricia) Seward, Elaine (Louis Dent) Seward, and Kevin Seward; grandfather of Brian Frasier, Jr., Rhaelyn Frasier, Marcea Person, Angela Seward, and the late Christian Frasier; great grandfather of twelve; great-great grandfather of three; sister of Shirley (Ronald) Weaver, William (late Florence) Seward, and the late Arthur (Susan) Seward, Hugh (late Ann) Seward, and Theresa (late Ermil) Dill; also several nieces and nephews.
