Obituary of Janet Horton

Janet Horton passed away March 13, 2012 under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born December 13, 1930 in Lockport she was the daughter of George and Inez (Patterson) Dear. Janet worked as a lunch monitor for the Lockport City School District and briefly at Zimmie's Tires. She was a life member of the VFW Post 2535 Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed camping and especially spending time with her family. Janet was predeceased by her husband Bartley Horton and her two sons Gerald B. Horton, Sr. and Bartley Horton, Jr. Janet is survived by her daughter Kim (James) Rose of Lockport; grandmother of Gerald (Stacey) Horton, Jr., Jessica Horton, James Rose, Jr., Jennifer Rose, and Amy (Kevin) Drake; great grandmother of Racheal, D'Vonne, Jah'Mir, and JT; mother in-law of Sherry (Al) Garver; sister of the late Donald and Gerald Dear and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 AM in Christ Episcopal Church, Rochester Rd. &amp; Fieldcrest Dr., Lockport. Interment will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery.
