Obituary of Carmen Morales

Carmen M. Morales passed away March 8, 2012 at her residence in Garner, NC in the care of her family. Born March 19, 1936 in Manati, Puerto Rico she was the daughter of Pedro Nieves and Carmen (Rodriquez) Rivera. Carmen worked in production at Harrison Radiator and she and her husband retired and moved to North Carolina. Carmen loved spending time with her family and friends, and loved dancing and singing as well. She composed a record, together with her brother Michael a guitarist, and sang for our service men and women. Carmen's hobbies included playing the piano, domino's, flowers and birds. Carmen also taught the neighborhood children and her own, how to speak Spanish, during the summer in their backyard. Carmen is survived by her husband of 52 years Jesus R. Morales of Garner, NC; mother of Debra (William) Morales Engler of Tonawanda, Col. Antonio (Michelle) Morales of Rochester, NY, Joseph (Anne) Morales of Amherst, Theresa (Tim) McCabe of Palm Springs, FL and Mary (Andy) Brittenham of Garner, NC; grandmother of nine; sister of Miguel (Irma) Nieves, Angela (Angel) Nieves-Rodriquez both of Puerto Rico, and the late Jose (late Petra) Nieves; several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday 4 to 5:30 PM and 7 to 8:30 PM at Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 AM in All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport. Entombment will be in Glenwood Mausoleum.
