Obituary of George Chadwick

George A. Chadwick passed away March 1, 2012 in Buffalo general Hospital. Born February 25, 1927 in Buffalo he was the son of Eric and Catherine (Baungartner) Chadwick. George served in the US Navy from 1945 to 1946 earning the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal (1 Star), Philippine Liberation Ribbon, American Theatre Medal and the Victory Medal. He was a self employed metal spinner having his business in Cheektowaga before retiring and moving to Lockport with his wife. George was a member of the Pendleton Center United Methodist Church and enjoyed bowling, fishing and especially spending time with his family and grandchildren.
George is survived by his wife Mary Jane (Snelgrove) Chadwick of Lockport; father of Susan (Kenneth) Mayer and Paula (Tim) Boettcher both of Lockport; grandfather of Andrew, Sara, Glen (Peggy) Mayer, Sheila Baran and Paul Baran; great grandfather of Nicholas, Austin, Breiann, Alex, and Max; brother of James (Ruth) Chadwick of Depew and the late Robert, Donald, and Edward Chadwick; also sister-in-law Ruth Chadwick and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Monday 10-11:30 AM in the Pendleton Center United Methodist Church, 6864 Campbell Blvd., Pendleton, NY 14120 where funeral services will immediately follow at 11:30 AM. Donations to the church or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.
