Ruth Mary (nee Ryan) Henning passed away September 29, 2009. Born January 4, 1915 in Hartland, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Mary E. (nee Lahey) Ryan. Ruth earned her Master's Degree in education and taught both English and History for the Niagara Falls and Lockport School Districts from which she retired. She was predeceased by her husband John E. Henning.

Ruth is survived by her children Paul (Carol) Henning of Honeoye, NY, Mary Elaine (Kevin) Spitler of Buffalo, NY, John Henning (Beverly Sunderland) of Los Angeles CA, James (Denise) Henning of Grand Junction, CO., Ann (Philip) Larkin of Hilton, NY, Elizabeth (Daniel Bower) O'Neill of Rochester, NY; grandmother of fourteen and great grandmother of five; sister of the late Roland Ryan, Sister Gertrude Ryan, Leland Ryan and Helen Ryan Dean; also survived by her sister in-law Evelyn Markle and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday 4 to 8 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where prayers will be offered Friday morning at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Barker. Memorials to the St. John's the Baptist Outreach would be appreciated by the family.
