Obituary of Robert Roskopf

Robert B. Roskopf passed February 8, 2012 at home surrounded by family and under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born August 5, 1938, in Lockport the son of the late Leo and Cecelia Schiffert Roskopf. Bob was a 1956 graduate of DeSales Catholic High School and attended MIT and the University of Buffalo. He was president of Royal Crest Construction Co. which was responsible for many single family homes throughout Lockport. His company also constructed several commercial interiors in Western New York. In his free time he enjoyed traveling to visit family, golfing and fantasy football. Bob was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, the Lockport Lions Club, the Lockport Elks Lodge #41 and the Lockport Moose Lodge #1557. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Mary Jane Shelton Roskopf; father of Alan (Laura) Roskopf of Lockport, Greg (Julie) Roskopf of Parker Colorado, Beth (Dennis) Wallisch of Loveland, Colorado and Teresa Omatick of Freeport, Maine. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. Brother of Don (Shirley) Roskopf of Grosse Ile, Michigan, Althea Wheatley of Lockport, Lucille Benjamin of Florida and the late Agnes Simon and several caring nieces and nephews. He was always a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sorely missed.
Relatives and friends may call Friday afternoon from 3 to 7 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport, NY. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials to the Lockport Lions Club for Sight, PO Box 354, Lockport, NY 14095 or Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY would be greatly appreciated by the Family.
