Obituary of Madeline Mahran

Madeline (Kanan) Mahran, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away January 26, 2012 in Niagara Hospice House. Born November 14, 1927 in Middletown, NY she was the daughter of Simon and Jennie (Zoghby) Kanan. Madeline graduated from Middletown High School and worked for E &amp; M Enterprises in Middleport and retired from AM &amp; A's in 1992. She belonged to Family Relations Mother's Club, the Kenan Arts Council, Kenan Herb Club and the Keenagers. Madeline enjoyed doing volunteer work, gardening, reading, baking and making floral arrangements. She was predeceased by her husband Henry J. Mahran on February 12, 1967. Madeline is survived by her daughters Barbara (Don Delaney) Mahran of Holley, NY, Cynthia See of Lockport and Linda (James Kennard) Mahran of Palm Coast, FL; grandmother of Jacob (Ashley) Mahran, USN of San Diego, CA, Brendan See and Evan See; great grandmother of Zachary Mahran; sister of the late Edward Kanan, Nazley Wylie, Syria Grayeb, Joseph Kanan and Alphonso Kanan; sister-in-law of Robert (Marian) Mahran of Monroe, NY; many beloved nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where prayers will be offered Monday at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Lockport Public Library, 23 East Ave., Lockport, NY 14094 or to the Kenan Center, 433 Locust St., Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated.
