The Rev. Kenneth E Miller, 89, of Pendleton passed away Friday, January 6, 2012. He was born in Wheeling, WV on Oct 26 1922. He was a Presbyterian minister serving congregations in Ohio, New Jersey, and New York. Rev. Miller served locally at Sheridan Park Presbyterian Church and Third Presbyterian Church in North Tonawanda. He also served as Stated Clerk of the Presbytery of Western New York. After retirement in 1983 he served in an interim capacity at Riverside Presbyterian Church in Buffalo, Wrights Corners Presbyterian Church, and First Presbyterian Church in Lockport. Rev. Miller was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II serving in Patton's Third Army, and survived 3 months as a prisoner of war. He loved his family, and was a classical music enthusiast.
Rev. Miller is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marian (nee Acker). He is also survived by his daughters Christine and Becky (Cal) Rhoney, grandchildren Philip (Jen) Rhoney and Brian (Erin) Rhoney; four great grandchildren; brother of the late Esther Stabenfeldt.
Relatives and friends may call Friday 4pm to 8pm in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Funeral service will be held at Saturday 10:30 am at First Presbyterian Church, 21 Church St., Lockport, with entombment in Acacia Park Cemetery. Rev Miller was an animal lover and remained active in the Presbyterian Church long after his retirement.
