Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Richard M. Tomaino, Sr. was welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior December 10, 2011, the 51st wedding anniversary to his beloved wife Patricia (Pilhorn) Tomaino. Born in Lockport, NY December 1, 1934, he was 77 years old. He was the son of the late Peter and Pauline (Siracusa) Tomaino. Richard served in the Navy from 1950 to 1954, stationed on the U.S.S. San Pablo. He worked 31 years for the Upson Company. He was a longtime member of Faith Tabernacle Church. Dearly loved and missed by his wife Patricia (Pilhorn) Tomaino, his children Lynn (Kevin) Squires, Richard Tomaino, Jr., Thomas Tomaino and the late Nancy Negvesky; cherished Papa of Shawn (April) Negvesky, USN, Chuck Squires, Sydney Tomaino and Thomas Tomaino, Jr. and Great granddaughter Sonya Mae Negvesky. Brother of Peter (Katherine) Tomaino, Jean Liuzzi and the late Katherine Bakos and Robert Tomaino. Brother in-law of Robert Pilhorn and Brenda (Paul) Kaczynski and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Dearly missed by his church family at Faith Tabernacle Church.
Dick as everyone called him, loved life, simple things of life. He loved God, his family, his church family and his friends, he was always happiest sitting in a fishing boat or on a dock with his pole in the water for hours at a time. He loved tending to his gardens in the summer, raising chickens and family get togethers. He loved just puttering around outside on his John Deere, mowing the lawn, relaxing under the pavilion out back, and watching his grandchildren play. He had a kind heart, a huge smile and a love for others. He loved his Monday Men's Bible Study and the fellowship of friends. Dick was a champion weightlifter, coming in 2nd overall for New York State. He was an avid boxing fan and enjoyed watching the Bill's games. He will be deeply missed by all whose live he has touched, but our peace is in knowing he is with his Lord and his beloved daughter, Nancy, in Glory.
