Obituary of Gerald Horton Sr.

Gerald B. Horton Sr., "Jerry", passed away Friday September 18, 2009 after a long illness in the Niagara Hospice House. Born January 16, 1952 in Lockport, he was the son of Janet Horton and the late Bartley Horton. Jerry worked for Occidental Chemical as a pipe fitter, after he left Occidental, Jerry opened Complete Auto Repair in Lockport, which he operated for close to 20 years as a mechanic. He enjoyed traveling to Narrow Waters, playing golf, softball and bowling. Jerry was an avid car enthusiast, especially Lancaster Speedway, which is where he would drag race his truck. Beside his mother, Jerry is survived by his wife Anne (nee Biano) Horton; father of Gerald B. (Stacy) Horton Jr., Jessica Horton and Michael (Nikki Harrington) Robinson all of Lockport. Grandfather of Gerald B. Horton III (J.T.), D'Vonne and Jah'Mir Clark and Brooke Elaine Robinson; Brother of Kim (James) Rose and Diana (Richard) Truscio and the late Bartley Horton Jr. He is also survived by his prior wife Sherry (Al) Garver of Lockport and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 AM in Christ Episcopal Church, Rochester Rd. and Fieldcrest Dr., Lockport. Interment will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery.
