Obituary of Anna (Cain) Keleher

Anna Margaret (Cain) Keleher was born in Lockport on June 11, 1921 and died in peace on Monday, November 14, 2011. She married the late Paul M. Keleher on January 3, 1944 when Paul was on a 3-day leave from the U.S. Army. She was the third daughter of Howard C. Cain and Helen (Gaughan) Cain. Anna Margaret is the loving mother of Michael P. (Yoko) Keleher of Kirkland, WA, Kathleen (late Roy) Holmes of Lockport, and Christine (Michael) Speck of Lockport; loving sister of Helen Hawkes of Lockport and the late Frances "Honey" Cain; a special and caring grandmother to Kellie Ayers of Henderson, NV, Karin Ayers of Colorado Springs, CO, Christopher M. Holmes of Lockport, Kenta Paul Keleher, Shota Andrew Keleher, and Kaori Maria Keleher, all of Kirkland, WA. Anna Margaret is survived by several loving nieces and nephews and so many dear friends, especially Carol (Sparks) Griesser who came into her life 55 years ago. She was baptized at St. John's R.C. Church and was a parishioner at St. Patrick's Church for 55 years. A graduate of St. Joseph's Academy Business School, Anna Margaret worked as a secretary at Harrison Radiator during World War II. She traveled extensively, first with Paul and her family, and often with her late cousin, Maryann Connelly of New York City. Anna Margaret visited her son and his family in Japan two times; and her daughter and her family in Germany and Egypt. Calling hours are at Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home on Sunday, November 20 from 1:00 - 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at All Saint's Parish on Monday, November 21 at 11:00 am and celebrated by her nephew Monsignor Patrick Keleher, followed by a burial ceremony in Cold Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to DeSales Catholic School in Lockport, Equistar Therapeutic Riding Program in Newfane, Challenger Sports, or a charity of your choice.
