Obituary of Isabel Hambruch

Isabel A. Hambruch entered into rest at Briody Health Care Facility on November 14, 2011. Born February 13, 1916, in Greenwood, NY to Vincent D. and Mary Ellen (McCormick) McCormick. She married Luther W. Hambruch on June 22, 1946 in Kenmore, NY He predeceased her in December 1997 after fifty-one years of marriage. She was also predeceased by sisters Celia Wallace and Virginia Wallace and a brother Leo McCormick.
Survivors include a daughter Nancy (David) Litz of Lockport, sister Elizabeth McCormick of Greenwood, NY, brother-in-law Robert (Natalie) Hambruch of New fane, NY and five nephews.
Isabel was a hairstylist at Evelyn's Beauty Shop in Kenmore for eight years. She then entered the Army Air Force WAC in 1943, spending one year in England as a supply technician during World War II and discharged in 1945 as a Sergeant. Isabel worked for a short period of time at Harrison Radiator and Briody Nursing Home on Niagara St.
Isabel lived in Gasport for thirty-two years, then moved to Lockport in 1982. She enjoyed traveling and gardening. Isabel belonged to the American Legion Post 1253 and was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.
There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
