Obituary of Alma Muck

Alma J. Muck, age 94, wife of Philip V. Muck, residing in Westfield, NY, formerly of Gasport, NY, died at Absolut Care at Westfield, November 6, 2011. She was born December 31, 1916 along with her late twin sister, Wilma Peters; Alma was the daughter of the late Fred C. and Myrtle Rhinehart Pechuman.
Alma graduated from Gasport High School in 1939 and also from Kelly Business Institute. She was a secretary retiring from Lobee Pump and Machinery in 1968. She was a member of the Lockport Alliance Church and very active in their Senior Royal Reapers Bible Group. An accomplished seamstress, Alma sewed many outfits for family and friends.
Besides her husband Alma is survived by her daughters, Joyce (John) Freeman, Phyllis (Greg) Winkler, and daughter-in-law, Carol Muck. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Carlos Muck, infant daughter, JoAnne Elizabeth Muck, brothers Kelsey, Roger, Earl Pechuman and sister Helen Vesco. Also surviving are grandchildren, Michael (Janelle) Grout, Kevin (LuAnn) Grout, JoAnne (Chris) Peters, Matthew (Jill) Grout, Richard (Wendy) Weatherbee, David (Michelle) Weatherbee, Jason Muck, Ann (Ron) Coon, Michael (Bambi) Heideman, and David (Libby) Heideman. Also several great and great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Alma's loving care providers of wing C at Absolut Care at Westfield.
Family and friends will be received from 12 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2011, immediately followed by a memorial service at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Absolut Care at Westfield, 26 Cass Street, Westfield, NY 14787 or The West Portland Baptist Church, 7081 West Main Road, Westfield, NY 14787.
