Our condolences to Harry's family from Florida friends. We were blessed to meet Harry after joining his bridge group here in St. Pete Beach. He was indeed a gentleman and scholar and great fun to play bridge with. He will be missed at the weekly breakfast meeting at Skyway Jacks, a modest cafe where a few of his friends gather each winter season to solve the world's problems. Harry was kind, insightful, and caring. We always looked forward to our visits with him. He loved humor and was a good sport, showing off one of his other talents when he waited tables at a womens' club event with two other Harrys, forming the "Three Harrys". We wish God's peace and understanding for Sharon, his sons, and the rest of the family. May the Lord be with you at this difficult time. Love, Paul & Helen Maxson

So sorry to hear of Dr. Oliver's death. We lived in Newfane and he was our doctor for many many years. He always had time to listen to your ailments and find a way to help his patients. We moved away from Newfane in 1982 and never found another doctor as easy to talk to and as caring as Dr. Oliver. Our sympathy to all of his family. Mary Lou & Jim Burt - Greenacres, Florida

We are saddened by Doctor's passing. We first met Dr. Oliver through Tom while Tom worked with Gerry at Frontier Pools many years ago. And for awhile Gerry & Tom hung out together, until Tom moved away. Later Gerry was a patient of his. Doctor also gave our first born her first check up. We are glad that Doctor kept an active and fulfilling life after his retirement.

I was sorry to see the passing of Dr. Oliver. As a former patient, I never quite found the dr. to replace him once he retired. I still remember as a little girl going to his office in Newfane and getting the worst tetanous shot ever! He made it better with a sucker afterward. God Bless you Dr. Oliver.

I met Dr. Oliver through my mother who worked at the hospital with him. One Fall, he was complaining about how the trees on his property dropped so many leaves in his gutters. My mother suggested that he meet me to clean them out for him. Well, at the first meeting I knew he was a kind and intersting man. He and Sharon were kind enough to let me do odd jobs for them over quite a few years while I was in college. I looked forward to coming home from school not just to see my parents but to see my friends the Olivers. God Bless, Paul-Joseph

To Mrs. Oliver & Family I knew Dr. Oliver before he retired and was one of his patients from the time I was born in December 1972. When I ran into him after he retired, it was nothing for him to stop and say hi and ask how I was doing. He really did care about a person's well being even though he didn't do the family practice anymore. He will be missed by many. His memory will be with all who knew him. Again just sending this note saying how sorry I am about your loss. Will Gioia Kenmore, NY

Dear Sharon & Family, I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Oliver for a year or more (circa 1991)...it was a very fragile time in my life when I was trying to "find myself" and my self-esteem was lacking. I was about nineteen years-old. I was in my first year of nursing school and not sure if I was going to continue in that field of work. I would follow Dr. Oliver from room to room writing for him and assisting him with patients. It was evident how much he loved his patients and his patients loved him back. To do this day whenever I see peanut butter and crackers, Dr. Oliver's daily snack, I think of him. Getting back to the fragile time in my life of finding myself...Dr. Oliver encouraged me by saying, "Lisa, you will be good at whatever you decide to do"...and complimented me on my skills in the office. To hear that from a man of his scholar and experience at that point in my life wrung in my mind for years to come. Today I have bachelors in Health Science and a masters degree. I teach seventh graders everyday the importance of health. I will never forget Dr. Oliver. He was so special even when he would wear two different shoes to work! Dr. Oliver, Sharon, and his staff helped raise me during that vulnerable time in my life...and I thank all of them!

Dear Oliver Family. My prayers and sympathy to all of you for the wonderful and one of a kind, Dr. Harry Oliver. Many years ago we were patients of this kind and down to earth Soul. His smiling face is how I remember him. I am blessed that God allowed my path to lead me to his office. May our Lord strengthen each of you just as Dr. Oliver always helped to heal and strengthen each of us that stepped across his doorway. In Christ Judy Sears Olcott NY
