Obituary of Dorothy Schwartz

Dorothy R. Schwartz, 97, passed away October 3, 2011 in Briody Health Care Facility. Born March 9, 1914 in Lockport she was the daughter of Harry and Anna (Hesser) Schwartz. Dorothy worked 30 years at Cotton Batting until it closed and then worked for the City Lockport in the water department retiring in 1984 at the age of 70. She was a life member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, member of the Eastern Star and volunteered with the American Red Cross. Her neighbors became her family. Dorothy is survived by her sister-in-law Louise Schwartz; aunt of Davis Schwartz and Joyce Teixeira; great aunt of Kim, Lena and Dorothy; great great aunt of Jason and Seen. She was predeceased by her siblings David Schwartz and Anna Harriet Schwartz. Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service Wednesday at 11 AM in Cold Springs Cemetery. Donations to Emmanuel United Methodist Church or to the Lockport Presbyterian Home would be appreciated.
