Bethesda, Maryland - Donna L. Regan passed away October 1, 2011 at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. Born August 13, 1927 in Jamestown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Hildegarde (Carlson) Lofgren and the widow of Dr. Thomas C. Regan, who passed away April 18, 2008. Donna was a retired registered nurse, trained at the Millard Fillmore School of Nursing and employed at the Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo, NY in the late 1940s. It was there that she met Dr. Thomas Regan and they were married in November 1950. Through the 1950s, Donna and her young children (Mike and Debra) followed Tom through several moves around the country as part of his U.S. Air Force career, including stations in Valdosta, Georgia; St. Louis, Missouri; and Fairbanks, Alaska. They eventually settled back in Tom's hometown of Lockport, where he opened his private practice and their family expanded with the birth of two sons (Tim and Jeff) in the early 1960s. Donna was an avid bowler, golfer, tennis player and card player, as well as an active volunteer for several organizations in the community throughout the 35 years she and Dr. Regan lived in Lockport. Donna and Tom retired to Winter Springs, Florida in 1994 and then in 2004 moved to the Washington, DC area. Donna is survived by her four children, Dr. Michael P. (Candace) Regan of Austin, TX; Debra Regan of Englewood, NJ; Timothy C. (Jennifer) Regan of Bethesda, MD; and Jeffrey T. (Melissa) Regan of Herndon, VA. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren: Caitlin, Patrick, David, Erin, Keira, Liam, Dylan, Alison and Alexis Regan.
