Henry Dale Edgar, 66, of Fannett, TX died early Saturday, September 5, 2009, at the Arboretum in Winnie, TX after a twelve year struggle with Alzheimer's. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 7, 2009, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fannett, TX under the direction of Broussard's, 134 W. Buccaneer in Winnie, TX. Henry's graveside service followed at 4 p.m. that afternoon at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Kaplan, Louisiana. A Rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Sunday evening at Broussard's. A native of Winnie, TX, Henry spent most of his life in Fannett, TX. Although he was a man of few words, he set an example of integrity and a strong work ethic. The love's of his life were his family and his church. His working life was spent with Harold Lee Engineering, Texas Gulf Sulphur, and Metalforms where he retired early due to his illness.
Henry is survived by his wife Sandra; father of Derek (Stephanie) Edgar of Fannett, TX, Brandon Edgar of Sierra Vista, AZ and Brandy (Jeff) Nichols of Baton Rouge, LA; brother of Carolyn (Carl) Layer of Lockport; grandfather of Nash Nichols, Quaid Nichols, Trace Edgar, Bliss Nichols, Emily Edgar and Duff Nichols; uncle of Wendy Benoit of Winnie, TX, Charles Mann of Hamshire, TX and Clay Mann of Fort Wainwright, AK.

They became our family... cared for Henry and showed us how to live that part of his life.
