Robert Dysinger Wall returned to his Lord Thursday, September 3, 2009. Born February 4, 1926, the twin son of Helen Brown Dysinger and Emory Griswold Wall in Grand Island.
Husband of the late Violet Virginia (Scott) wall, they celebrated their 50th anniversary July 17, 1999.Brother of Emory G. (the late Helen) Wall, Jr., of Port Charlotte, Fla. and the late twin Richard (Dorothy) Dysinger Wall, John Stanley Wall and Alfred Griswold Wall.
Father of Ann (the late Richard) Dodge, Robert Scott Wall, John (Sandi) Wall of Lockport, Vickie-lee Wall of D.C. and Cpt. Daniel A. Wall of Ft. Hood, Texas. He was the proud grandfather of Richard (Tammy) Dodge, Francis (Brigene) Dodge, Rhiannon Wall, Pfc Jayson Wall, Brian Wall, Alexander Wall, Anthony Wall, William Robert Wall and great grandfather of Elizabeth Dodge, Richard Dodge III, Nolan Dodge and Kendyl Dodge.
He attended Lockport High School until 1945 and graduated from General Motors Institute in factory management in Detroit, Michigan. He retired after 38 years from Harrison Radiator as a supervisor.Mr. Wall was a proud WWII veteran, serving as a combat medic in the South Pacific after training at Walter Reed Hospital.
As an avid outdoorsman, he fished from Alaska to Florida and Maine to California.
He was a life member of the VFW Post #2535 in Lockport and the NRA Founders Club. He was past president of the Pioneers Sportsmen and past director of L.O.T.S.A..
Friends can visit with his family at Lockport United Church of Christ, 98 East Avenue, Lockport at 11 am on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, followed by a celebration of his life at 1 p.m. Inurnment for Robert and Violet wall will follow at Hunts Corners Cemetery. Donations to World Vision, Save the Children, Lockport UCC or the charity of ones choice would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
