Obituary of Ruth A. Watier
Ruth A. Watier passed away on December 13, 2024, in Niagara Hospice House. She was born on May 30, 1941, in Hornell, NY, the daughter of Andrew and Margaret (Snowden) Markel. Ruth was an X-ray technician for Dr. Fricke, Dr. Denzel, and Dr. Bauer.
Ruth is survived by her son Kevin (Lynn) Watier; grandchildren Meghan (Josh) Toenniessen, Ryan (Aileen) Gilbert, Brenna (late Josh) Laspada; great-grandchildren Noah, Hadley, Olive, and Madison; brothers John (Betty) Markel, Steve (late Patricia) Markel, Thomas (Kathy) Markel, Sister-in-laws Angela Markel and Mary Markel, and half-sister Barbara (Richard) Mazzerese. She was predeceased by her brothers Robert Markel and David Markel.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 11 AM at Emmanuel Methodist Church, 75 East Ave. Lockport, NY. Inurnment in Hope and Rural Cemetery, Hornell, NY.
