Obituary of Richard W. Wiseman

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Richard Wiseman, beloved father and brother, on October 30, 2024, in Lockport, NY. He leaves behind his son, Joshua (Erzsi) Wiseman, his sister, Lynn (Martin) Hunte, and his brother Tom (Janette) Wiseman, along with several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many dear friends. He is predeceased by his granddaughter, ZsuZsi, and his parents, Ruth and Harold Wiseman.


Rick was born May 16, 1956, in Lockport, and graduated from LSHS in 1974. He was a proud Army veteran and retired from NYSDOT as Senior Engineering Technician in 2021 after 35 years. He will be remembered for his cartoon sketches, his kind and compassionate spirit, and his sense of humor. Rick enjoyed hunting, working on his cars, and talking with people. He loved storytelling. He was a fiercely loyal friend and a proud American patriot.


Calling hours will be Saturday, November 16th from 2-4pm at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. Private interment at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a veterans or conservation organization of your choice.  Please join Rick's family at the Niagara Hotel (58 N. Transit St.) for laughter and light refreshments @ 5pm, following calling hours.  Please bring your best stories about Rick.  RSVP is not required.
