Obituary of Charles W. Gelnett, Sr.
Charles W. Gelnett, Sr., age 84, of the Town of Lockport, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Born in Clearfield, PA, he was the son of the late George and Helen (nee Painter) Gelnett. He served in the US Army in 1957. Charles retired as a supervisor at Delphi (Harrison Radiator) in Lockport and was a member of First English Lutheran Church. He enjoyed camping and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Charles also enjoyed Native American History. Charles loved his family and their family dog "Dolly" and grand dogs.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sandra (nee Bixler) Gelnett, five children, Judy Ritchie, Charles W. Gelnett, Jr., Wayne (Molly) Gelnett, Cheryl "Cheri" (Ken) Pierpaoli, and Tim (Michele) Gelnett; grandchildren, Tammy (Ben) Phillips, Kyle (Kelsey) Gelnett, Leslie Gelnett, Ryan (Elaina Berlin) Gelnett, Brianna (Michael Vogt) Gelnett, Corey Gelnett and Gabriella Gelnett; and three great-grandchildren, Greyson Phillips, Evelyn Gelnett, and Amelia Gelnett. He was the brother of Beverly Bensky, Joyce Smarr, Kenneth Gelnett, Cora “Cookie” Albright, and Gina Gelnett; sister-in-law Gloria Bixler. Charles is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 17th from 4-7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 18th at 10 AM.
