First, I want to extend my deepest sympathy to Beth and Robert's family for your loss. I am a second cousin who probably saw Robert as a child. I knew his parents, Howard and Marge and my mother, Katherine Fiedler Archie was Kathy's Godmother. Your neighbor, Martha Archie, informed me of Robert's demise and the Fiedler name happens to be top of mind these days as my daughter and I are headed to Prague, Czech Republic in a week. We are working with a genealogist and will visit properties where my Grandparents and Robert's Great Grandparents lived, worked and married. My first memory of Bob is as a 9th grader catching for Bob on the JV squad. I caught his fastball square in my palm and had a bruise that lasted all season. I'd go awhile but before long, I'd catch one in the center and start all over. A real friend my whole life. I'll miss our golf days that had many laughs.
