I am a friend of Jackie’s. When I was devastated by our first grandchild’s diagnosis of Rett Syndrome, Jackie told her mother about this beautiful baby with this terrible disease. Your Mom promptly offered to pray for a miracle. I can’t tell you how much that meant to my husband and me.
Every time I saw Jackie, she would tell me her Mom continued to inquire about Catalina. I often requested prayers from your Mom at various points in Catalina’s development since she was obviously so close to God.
When I read her obituary just now, I am bowled over by her incredible energy and activity. What a busy and giving lady! She was ALWAYS thinking of others. I am humbled to think she always remembered Catalina amidst all her work and commitments.
All of you were so lucky to have such a loving, caring mother. And now you have each other and all your memories to treasure for the rest of your lives.
You, your children and your grandchildren have been very blessed.

My condolences to the Quirk family on the loss of your beloved mother, who also showered me with the love of a mother, after the loss of my Mom, who was one of her best friends-Cassie Dussault, who knew Mary Rose from childhood. Mrs. Quirk was always there for us all our lives, gave my parents guidance and love and even helped them out in material ways. She was a primary mentor and I still refer back to her, always thinking, "What would Mrs. Quirk say about this?"
She saved my life when I was 9 months old, when I was sick, advising my parents to take me up to Children's in Buffalo, where I was diagnosed with Celiac and put on the proper diet. She kept right on being there for us through all the challenging years while my father was ill and my Mom had cancer. My Mom and Mrs. Quirk were in book clubs together and the Legion of Mary and the Charismatic Renewal, and Mrs. Quirk and Sister Helen were the best friends my mother ever had. They are all together now in Heaven with my Cape Cod Mother Figure, Sabra, who served the Lord for the last 40 years of her life and was also born in 1930. They are rejoicing and throwing down their golden crowns before our Lord and praising Him in bodies that are whole and hearts full of joy. We will see them all again when the Lord calls us Home and there will be tears of joy when we are all together again!

Aunt Mary Rose was amazing in so many ways. She and Uncle Jim welcomed me to the family when I married her nephew John. I remember many fun evenings in their home in Lockport and in the cabin on Lake Ontario. We were able to reciprocate once in California, and spend some additional time with them. Her family is beautiful - imagine growing up in a household of 9 children- always something interesting going on. .It is wonderful to see the way that they love and support each other; they had great role models. My love to the family always.
