Dad loved the water.
He drive to Wilson peer Olcott beach. Lewiston. Andy would take them to further away lakes and we would go to 1,000 Island. He loved to just sit and look at the water. Be around the water. If he took off we always knew he was at the water.

Dad hated hospitals but if you were there he would come visit you every day. Dad always had to make sure we were ok
Dad was always there for us no matter what it was.
I will never forget the time I came home before my children got off the bus. There was a skunk infront of my house that was falling down walking on its front legs not acting right. It's blocking me so I can't get into my house. I called 911 a police officer was sent to my house. He shots it and as soon as it let that spray out he left us. My dad came right over with a shovel plastic bags gloves on his hands and bleach. He would not let me help him he wanted to keep me safe and he took care of that skunk for us.

Alexis's Speech given:
It still seems so surreal standing before you all today and still expecting to hear Grandpa's one of a kind laugh.
I wanted to share one of his favorite jokes, but couldn't think of anything appropriate.
So instead I will share his favorite piece of advice. You have 2 eyes, 2 ears and one mouth. So you should look and listen twice as much as you speak.
However as we know he seldomly ever took his own advice.
A stranger was never a stranger long once Grandpa met them. He always had to share a joke and find a way to make someone smile.
But he was so much more than just a jokester. He was an exceptional Grandpa. He was the Grandpa who ate a whole pan of brownies and told me how great each one was just so I wouldn't feel bad.
He was the Grandpa who would go on field trips and pick us up from school early to take us to an amusement park. He wasn't afraid to be silly with us or play outside.
He always said to me A lex it's important to always tell someone you love that you love them. So everytime we spoke he would say God Bless you and I love you. Hes continued to share his love and devotion to my boys and to all his great grandkids as well.
Even with it hard for him to walk he never missed a soccer game. He cheered for all the kids and made sure they each got a nickname. Ice cream and French fries were always a must afterwards, naturally he shared his fries.
A lifetime of memories is now what we have. I pray that my boys grow to be as selfless, as loving and as hardworking as you Grandpa.
As much as we will all miss his large personality I find piece in knowing that he will get to share all his love and famous dance moves with my little girl. It's her turn now to get the best Grandpa.

At Dads Memorial this is what I said for Dad:
Thank you all for coming.
I was going to talk about Dad's interests and the love he had for his family. How he loved doing fun things with us. How h
e loved meeting and talking to new people. Dad loved to make others happy
Most of you may not know this my dad was also a practical joker. Ask my mom about the cherry bomb in their bathroom.
Dad lived a full life and I thought other people could share their time and stories they had with Dad. I like to say a poem instead.
You held my hand when I was small you caught me when I fell the hero of my childhood and of my latter years as well. Everytime I think of you my heart just fills with pride and though I will always miss you. Dad I know you're by my side In laughter and in sorrow in sunshine and in rain I know your watching over me until we meet again
Love you Dad

Thanks for picking me to be your daughter, thanks for teaching me about wildlife, teaching me to fish, teaching me basketball and football, how to ride horses, and cook really good fried potatoes. Most of all teaching me to pray, and to trust God and to love others, thank you dad for all the blessings you spoke over us our whole lives.

Grandpa,
You were always loving, selfless and hardworking. You have been an exceptional Grandpa and your humor was one of a kind. Summer nights of listening to music and dancing will never be the same. Listening to you tell me about your childhood and your favorite life lessons will always be cherished. Life seems so lonely without you here, but I know your love is still carried with us in our hearts.
