Obituary of Betty Jane Maines
Betty entered into the arms of her Lord and savior Monday June 3rd 2024 surrounded by her family. Betty was born on January 26, 1930 a daughter of Hans and Christine (Petersen) Christensen. She was predeceased by her husband Clifford M. Maines, and her children Rosemary Zahoransky, William C. Maines and Deborah Reynolds. Betty is survived by her daughter Doreen (Joe) Lobczowski, Her grandchildren Dana (Mary Beth) Moore, Adam (Don) Moore-Oades, Amanda (Brent) Amos, Adrienne (Greg) Zastrow, Jennifer (Barry) Kreutz as well as great grandchildren: Emilee, Julia, Amelia, Jack, Vivien, Haylee, and Oliver.
Betty was born and raised in Chicago, IL. Shortly after meeting her husband they moved to Middleport where they raised a family. During this time Betty was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran church, and the Cornell Cooperative Extension Ladies Home Bureau, where she made many lifelong friendships. Betty retired to Florida where she and her husband enjoyed 26 wonderful years of golfing, playing cards, dancing and parties in their retirement community before returning to WNY.
Betty lived life with zest, choosing to see the importance of a genuine love for those around her. Betty loved to compliment complete strangers and share a warm bright smile with all that she met. Betty knew small acts of genuine love and kindness mattered, leaving many that knew her touched by her wonderful personality.
The family would like to thank both Heritage Manor of Lockport and Hospice for their welcoming and kind staff and services.
Private inurnment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice House on Sunset Dr, Lockport would be appreciated.
