Obituary of Susan Alice Lerch

Susan A. (McKee) Lerch passed away May 11, 2024 under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Born March 20, 1940 in Muskegon, Michigan, she was the daughter of Miles F. and Alice E. (Kelly) McKee. She was a graduate of Northwestern University. Susan was the co-founder and co-director of Discovery Nursery School where she taught. Thereafter, she continued teaching through Miss Sue’s home daycare and substitute teaching. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, PEO Sisterhood, Junior Service League, and Senior Citizen Bag Ladies. Susan enjoyed traveling, gardening, and especially loved spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Spencer E. Lerch where they met in Paradise (Hawaii) and are together again in Paradise for eternity.

Susan is survived by her children Christopher (Kelly) Lerch, Brian (Melissa) Lerch, and Kathleen (Daniel) Kelly; her favorite grandchildren, Korrie (Chad) Bacon, Nathan Lerch, Michael Lerch, Justin (Nicole) Lerch, Zachary (Kallie) Kelly, Amanda Lerch, Allison Lerch, Connor Kelly, Dylan Kelly, Katelyn Lerch, Mitchell Kelly, Faith Kelly; brothers David ( Lynn Naeckel) McKee, Peter (Joan) McKee, and William (Christina) McKee; also many nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior visitation. Memorial service to celebrate Susan’s life will be held Saturday, May 18th 9 AM at Christ Episcopal Church, 7145 Fieldcrest Dr., Lockport.
