Obituary of Richard Alan Groves

Richard A. Groves passed away suddenly, May 9, 2024 in Buffalo General Medical Center. Born January 30, 1937 in Louisville, KY he was the son of Willard and Juanita (Shoemaker) Groves. Richard served in the US Airforce from 1957 to 1977, attaining the rank of Technical Sergeant with deployments in Europe and Stateside.  After retirement from the military, he worked for the US Postal Service in Lockport until his second retirement. Not happy to sit at home, he was a “starter” at the Niagara County Golf Course for several years. He was predeceased by his wife of 42years, Linda (Raskopf) Groves on February 25, 2024. Richard is survived by his children Richard (Debbie) Groves, Jr and Mary Groves; granddaughters Heather and Annatheia; siblings Mary Groves and the late Donald Groves. Brother and Sister-In-laws Wendon and Ann Raskopf.  Uncle of Nathan (Helen)Raskopf, Adina (William) Neuman and their families.  A special remembrance to his Caregivers, Staci and Adrianna.  Private graveside services will be held at a later date in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria, NY.
