Mildred M. White "Mo", passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 6, 2011 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of William J. and Mildred (Moran) Murphy. She was also predeceased by her husband Donald J. White, her brother William J. Murphy Jr. and her sister Diane Shardon Lee.
Mildred is survived by her sister Joeleen Murphy (Frank) Sippel and several nieces and nephews, and a long time friend Robert Arlington.
She attended Buffalo State College and retired from the Lockport Public Library after 41 years of service. "Mo" enjoyed gourmet cooking, travel, reading and had a special affection for dogs. An avid golfer, she was a member of the Lockport Town and Country Club, she was also a member of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church.
There will be no prior visitation. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday July 25, 2011 at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport. Memorials to the Lockport Public Library, 23 East Avenue, Lockport, NY 14094, Sister Helen's Food Pantry, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport, NY 14094 or to Save-a-Pet, PO Box 1114, Newfane, NY 14108 would be appreciated by the family.
