Obituary of Linda Groves
Linda Ann Groves passed away February 25, 2024, in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital after a brief period of declining health.
Born November 9, 1949 in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of the late Emmett J. and Janelle A. (Coughlin) Raskopf.
Beloved wife of Richard A. (Dick) Groves of 42 years, who survives her.
Linda is also survived by her brother, Wendon John (Ann) Raskopf; also nephew Nathan (Helen) Raskopf of NC and niece Adina M (William) Neuman of Auburn NY and their families. Cousins, Kelly Coughlin, Patrick (Paula) Coughlin and Kathleen (Coughlin) Platek and Stepson, Richard A. Groves, Jr. of Utah and his family, and former husband Robert Kidney.
Linda began her secretarial career employed at the Tuscarora Club of Lockport for many years until it closed. She also worked at The Boy Scouts of America Lewiston/Iroquois Trail Council, City of Lockport Mayor, Michael Tucker, finally retiring, after being secretary for the Education Director at Eastern Niagara Hospital Lockport & Newfane sites.
Long time member of the Lockport Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ladies Auxiliary, Linda was a Past President six times and member of the award winning “Ritual” Team. Linda was also installed into the Eagles NY State Hall of Fame, for work with the Eagles and her community.
A Dedicated NASCAR and Buffalo Bills Fan, Sundays gave the TV remote a real workout.
Linda’s beautiful smile will be missed by her Husband Richard, family, and many, many friends.
Memorial Donations can be made to Olcott Beach Carousel Park, Save-A-Pet of Niagara County, or to a charity of your choice.
Per her request there will be no prior visitation. A graveside burial service will be held at North Ridge Cemetery in Cambria, NY on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 2pm.
