Doreen D. Genet entered into rest February 5th, 2024, under the care of Niagara Hospice with her family by her side.

Doreen was born December 4th, 1933, in Bridlington, England.  She was the daughter of Arnold and Kathleen (Burgin) Dowse.

The family moved to Toronto in 1948 and to the United States in 1950.  Doreen was married to husband Charles on November 26th, 1955, who predeceased her in 1994.  She was also predeceased by her daughter Nancy (Genet) Reichert and brother Kenneth Dowse.

She is survived by her son Andrew Genet, daughter Cheryl (Steven) Conomos, sister Elaine Dowse of Florida, grandchildren Nickolas Conomos, Jessica (Zach) DiaPaul, and two great grandchildren Ezra and Camille DiaPaul.

Doreen served as a Town of Pendleton reporter for several local newspapers in the 1970's, and most recently as Deputy Town Clerk for the Town of Pendelton until she retired in 2018.  Doreen spent hours knitting booties and donating them to many charity organizations throughout the area.

No prior visitation or memorial service to be held.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested remembrances be made in the form of contributions to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY   14094.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com
