Obituary of Gertrude I. Corio

Gertrude I. “Trudy” Corio passed away January 28, 2024 in Highland Hospital, Rochester, NY.  Born November 29, 1938 in Jamestown, NY she was the daughter of Danolf A. and Dora M. (Quist) Nordin.  Trudy earned her Master’s degree in pharmacy and worked at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center where she was a pharmacist for over 30 years retiring in 2004.  She was an active member at Warrens Corners United Methodist Church and was a literacy volunteer for many years.  Trudy enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, and especially spending time with her family.  She was predeceased by her husband Anthony Corio on September 20, 2017.

Trudy is survived by her children Mark (Alice) Corio, Kathleen Allchin, and Timothy (Darlene) Corio; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; siblings Leonard (Liz) Nordin, Janice (late Joseph) Adams, and Donna Atwell; sister-in-law Mary Jo Nordin and several nieces and nephews.  She was also predeceased by her brother Roger Nordin.

Relatives and friends may call Friday, Feb. 2nd from 10-11 AM with services following at 11 AM all in Warrens Corners United Methodist Church, 5293 Stone Rd., Lockport.  In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
