Obituary of Richard W. Howes Sr.
Richard “Dick” W. Howes Sr. passed away January 21, 2024 in Niagara Hospice House. Born February 11, 1949 in Medina, NY he was the son of Roland M. and Marian F. (Johnson) Howes. Dick served in the US Navy from 1967 – 1971 being awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy he worked in production for 30 years at Harrison Radiator Div of GM. Dick enjoyed watching football, listening to the radio station 97 Rock, playing Solitaire, an going to Cousins Café. He was predeceased by his siblings Onalee Howes, Lyle Johnson, Ronald “Butch” Howes, and Arthur Howes, and grandson Richard Howes, III.
Dick is survived by his two sons Richard W. Howes, Jr. and Peter (Angela) Howes; granddaughter Emily Howes; sister Donna Moore.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, January 26th from 4-7 PM with services at 7 PM all in Prudden And Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.
