Obituary of Kathy Newman

Kathy L. Newman passed away January 16, 2024 in Niagara Hospice House.  Born October 26, 1950 in Fairmont, WV she was the daughter of Bernard and Marjorie (Keister) Brookover.  Kathy was a 1968 graduate from Lockport Senior High School and a 1972 graduate from Fairmont State University.  She taught History at Royalton-Hartland High School for 32 years, retiring July 1, 2006.

Kathy is survived by her husband Philip R. Newman; children Nathan (Brooke) Newman, Jacob (Allyson) Newman, and Mary Newman; grandchildren Joslyn Newman-Snyder, Silas Newman, Stella Newman, and Autumn Newman; siblings Richard (Martha) Brookover and the late Judy (late Martin) Schultz; also several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her step-mother Mary (Martinez) Brookover.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday, January 21^st from 1-4 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 22^nd at 10 AM at All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport.  Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations to Niagara Hospice or All Saints Parish would be appreciated by the family.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
