Obituary of Roberta Ann Visger
Roberta A. Visger passed away January 7, 2024 in Henderson, Nevada. Born in Lockport, April 26, 1941; she was the daughter of Robert and Betty ( Haskin ) Shutes. Roberta graduated Lockport High School in 1960 and attended Michigan State University to pursue a degree in Phys Ed, and where she met and married Henry. Roberta was a Cub Scout Mother for many years. She loved children and taught Nursery School at 1st Baptist Church for 10 years. After teaching she went on to become a Real Estate Agent working at Coldwell Banker for 8 years. Until her dream job became available, Grandmother, and she was a most excellent grandmother. She would go on to move to California for a year to spend more time with her first grandkids. When she was back in Lockport she would happily help with her niece and nephew's children. After her 3rd granddaughter was born, in Lockport, she insisted on providing day care until pre-k. You couldn't asked for a happier grandmother or grandchild. She volunteered at Meals on Wheels delivering meals for 15 years, especially enjoying her time delivering meals with the late Joe Whalen.. Roberta loved playing tennis and sailing on Lake Ontario and spending time at Tuscarora Yacht Club or in Florida for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her two boys and her four grandchildren. She made many trips to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and enjoyed the warm weather there in the winter. Mom always shared her opinions of all things and believed family could talk things through no matter how complex or difficult the subject was. Mom always had a very positive outlook on life and would always brighten up a room with her smile. She genuinely cared for all that she knew, and would always ask about how the many friends that she met over the years were doing.
