Douglas R. Emerson Obituary

Douglas R. Emerson passed away January 7, 2024 under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born February 11, 1932 in Lockport he was the son of Albert and Gladys (Richmond) Emerson.  Douglas served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 and worked for the United States Postal Service where he was a mail carrier working at the Lockport office.  He was a member of the Middleport Rod & Gun Club and enjoyed fishing and hunting.  Douglas was predeceased by his wife Mary (Bandemer) Emerson in 1985.


Douglas is survived by his children Bruce (Marguerite) Emerson and Diane (John) Woods; grandsons D.J., Ian, Joel, and Eliott; also several nieces and nephews.  Besides his wife he was also predeceased by his sister Pamela Emerson in 2010.


Friends may call Monday January 22nd 10-12 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, where a service will immediately follow at 12 PM.  Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
