Obituary of Robert McQueen

Robert P. McQueen 66, of Lockport, NY (formerly of Niagara Falls) died peacefully at home, on June 26, 2011 after a lengthy illness. &amp;quot;McQueen&amp;quot;, as he was affectionately known, grew up in Fairmont, NC where he attended public schools, and gradated in 1963 from Rowland High School, Rowland, NC. He also attended The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1964, he was stationed in Niagara Falls, NY, and was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1968. He married Yvonne Mckinnon in 1967, and from that union one daughter was born, Adrian McQueen. He married Kathy McQueen in 1994. He gained employment with Union Carbide, as well as John Hancock Insurance Co. He retired from Harrison Radiator after 35 years of service as a press operator. Also surviving McQueen are brothers Giles Archie (Betty) McQueen, Virginia Beach, VA, Dexter (Brenda) McQueen, Fairmont, NC, two sisters, Lenora Townsend, and Creola McQueen, both of Fairmont, NC, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
