Obituary of William Harris
William R. Harris (Woody) began his journey to the Spirit World on October 25, 2023 at the age of 57. He was a member of the Onondaga Clear Sky, Turtle Clan, Six Nations Reserve, Ohsweken Ontario.
Woody had a passion for Music and Art. He had many talents including: drawing, writing poetry, and playing drums to almost any song presented. He and a few friends would have " jam out" sessions in Allentown, Buffalo on the weekends during the summer. Woody was an avid fan of the Buffalo Sabres, whether on TV or the radio, he would follow the game. Win or lose it didn’t matter, he still loved them. Woody painted numerous buildings throughout Buffalo during his 15 years of wandering, taking great pride in his meticulous work.
Throughout his life, his greatest love was always his daughter Brooke Harris and her daughter Rayna Matyjasik. Mentioning them would always bring a twinkle to his eye and a genuine smile. His love for them was unscathed despite the time between.
Woody also leaves behind his siblings, Leona, Michael ( late Cynthia), Lawren, Joel (Thea), Scott, Patrick (Sheila), Cecilia (Omar) Brown, Tony (Erica), Rodney ( Cheryl) Staats, Jane ( late Bud) Morehead. His devoted sister in law, Rona "Chop" Styres, and his best friend Floyd Folk.
Also survived by Aunts: Myrna Powless, Vivian General, Judy ( late Manford) Miller, Marlys (late Kevin) Rambeau-General and Janet " Rikki" Longboat. Uncles: Sam ( Rose) General, Keith General. As well as a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by parents: Cecil ( Rita) Harris and Eva General. Siblings: Kenneth, Pete, Darren and Jodine Harris, Cameron and David Staats. Aunts: Doris and Nancy General and Uncles: Ervin (Barbara) Harris and Albert Harris.
