Obituary of Betty Babis

Betty Jean Babis passed away June 27, 2011. Born June 18, 1927 in Lockport she was the daughter of the late John and Phyllis (nee Loach) Ark. Betty worked for Harrison Radiator for 32 years where she was in production retiring in 1982. Betty was a member of the B. Leo Dolan Unit Post 410 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Niagara County American Legion Ladies Auxiliary where she served as past president for both organizations. She was also a volunteer at Briody Health Care Facility. Betty was predeceased by her husband John Babis on March 19, 2002. Betty is survived by her children John (Nancy) Babis of Lockport, Patricia (Bob) McGuire of Naples, FL, the late David Babis and Kathleen Babis; grandmother of Joann (David) Schrecongost, Robert DeLuca, Rene (Shorty) Wood, Phillip (Holly) Babis, Dan McGuire and Kellie McGuire; great grandmother of Matthew, David, Rickie, Shane, Skye, Kayla, Katie and Alyssa; sister of the late John Ark; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Thursday 4-8 PM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be held Friday at 10 AM.
