Obituary of Mark A. Crane

Mark A. Crane passed away October 17, 2023, in Mercy Hospital of Buffalo.  Born November 2, 1958, in Lockport, he was the son of Paul and Elsie (Speranza) Crane, Sr. He served in the US Army from 1981-1999 and was Captain of the Army Corp of Engineers.  He worked at GM Powertrain in Tonawanda for over 30 years where he was a tinsmith retiring in 2016.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree Council 319 and 4th Degree Assembly 754, Vigil Honor Member, the American Legion, the UAW, a member of the Holy Name Society at All Saints Parish, and the AM Lockport Toastmasters. Mark volunteered his time for the community playing Santa Claus for many years.  He was an active member with the Boy Scouts of America where he was a counselor and teacher, as well as an American Red Cross Blood and Palettes Donor. 

Mark is survived by his wife of 33 years, Constance “Connie” (Mietlicki) Crane; children Erica (Karl) Wilson, and USAR Captain Philip (Sarah Pranaitis) Crane; grandson Elliot Wilson; brother Major Paul (Barbara) Crane, Jr, USA, Retired; also, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Besides his parents Mark was also predeceased by his other brother Christopher Crane.

Relatives and friends may call Friday, Oct. 20th from 4-7 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 21st at 10 AM at All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
