Shirley M. LaForest passed away September 21, 2023 under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born February 27, 1925 in Lockport she was the daughter of Parker and Gladys (Harrington) Greenman. Shirley was a waitress at the Park Hotel in Lockport for many years. She worked at Harrison Radiator during WW II as a “Rosie the Riveter ''. She also worked at AM&A’s Department Store, and was head cook for Lockport City School District at Emmet Belknap. Shirley was a proficient seamstress, enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and cooking and baking for her family. Her family always came first. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Anthony W. LaForest on November 9, 2011.

Shirley is survived by her children Paul (late Frances) LaForest and Catherine (George) Tocco; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; brother Parker (Rene) Greenman; also several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she is also predeceased by her son Richard (late Lana) LaForest and sister Marjorie (late Floyd) Morrison.

A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, October 23rd at 10 AM at All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport. Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
