Obituary of George G. Matheis Sr
George G. Matheis, Sr. passed away September 10, 2023 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Born May 16, 1939 in Buffalo, he was the son of George G. and Eleanor (Engasser) Matheis. George served in the US navy from 1955 to 1957 and owned his own business. He was a member of the Barker Lions Club, and enjoyed working on and painting cars. George was predeceased by his wives Dianne (Huntington) Matheis in 1999 and Verna (DePuy) Matheis in 2020.
George is survived by his children George Matheis, Jr., Scott (Kim) Matheis, Tammie (Greg) Goodrich, Cynthia (Alan) Pickard, and Shellie (Dan) Poullott; twenty-one grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; siblings John (Diane) Leising, Shirley McCanden, and Patricia (Duane) Burkhard; also several nieces and nephews.
