Peter G. Stapell Obituary
Peter G. Stapell passed away August 31, 2023 in Niagara Hospice House. Born September 1, 1940 in Hamburg, NY he was the son of Gordon and Mary Jane (Hines) Stapell. Peter earned his Bachelors degree and worked for Moog in East Aurora and Sierra Research in Buffalo, where he was an engineer. He was also a ski instructor for 40 years at Holimont and Blumont Ski Resorts. Peter enjoyed doing activities outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, biking, and canoeing.
Peter is survived by his wife of 32 years, Alana (Irving) Stapell; step-sons Perry (April) Beardsley, Matthew Beardsley, and Nathan Beardsley; grandsons Nicholas and Jacob; siblings Paul Stapell, Monte Stapell, Sharon Wittmeyer, and Sandra O’Brien; also several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Mark Stapell.
Private services will be held at a later date.
